Syke!

So.

It turns out that I'm not back after all.  You know what?  Life has just been more full of the living and less of the telling.  At the end of April, my sister in law visited for a few days.  She and her companion were headed towards some conventions and they got a few days before the trip.  So we got some extra time, and it was relaxin'.

Then, on May1st, my sister and nephew came to visit.  This is the Marine sis that got back from Afghanistan recently.  We are so glad to have her back!  And I've been too busy kissing baby cheeks to worry about my blog.  Yes, school has suffered.  But it's not every day that two-year-olds come to visit and I like to capitalize.  Tomorrow they leave *sniff* and real life can continue.  But it's been so nice to have them around!  Wish we all lived closer to each other!!!

So that is my excuse.  I'm here, and I'm around.  But life has called and I've listened.  So it's meager blog posts lately.

As we speak, my sis is putting her baby to bed.  Whenever she makes him do something he doesn't want to do, he cries out "Leeda!"  And as you can imagine, I leap to his defense with kissed and treats galore.  =) No, I'm not ashamed of myself one bit.  Right now he's chirping out a "Leeda" or two in hopes that I'll override his Mama.  =D  It's so fun!  Susan puts up with it really well, thank goodness!

So Happy Mother's Day, gals.  I think this is the perfect Proverbs 31 day when the work of our hands is our reward.  Because we all know that fame and glory are not attained by being moms.  But it can be very  enthralling, engaging, tough and stimulating work!  Especially that part about how we have to first BE all the things we want our kids to grow up to be. =)  Whew!

Off to spend a last night with #4!

  1. If it's not too late, tell her hello for me! I thought about coming to visit while she's with Calysta, but it's the week BEFORE Jeanie's wedding and I surely won't be making that trip twice in two weeks...four times in as many months is plenty enough. So, I'll miss seeing her, but I'm glad she's home and gets to make the rounds. :)

  4. Melita, you said, "and real life can continue." Those days with your sis WERE real life... and looks like you enjoyed them thoroughly. That's what life is all about. As somebody recently told me, "savor the moments." Baby cheeks don't stay that way forever :)
